Engineers without Borders -- Social Change and Youth Leadership Conference

The Social Change and Youth Leadership Conference (SCYLC) hosted by the University of Toronto Chapter of Engineers Without Borders. This conference provides an opportunity for ambitious high school students to get involved and learn more about global development problems as well as being able to experience 2 days of university life!

The event will take place at the University of Toronto, St. George campus from May 27 to 28 (we will be providing accommodation and food for students).

This year, the theme of the conference is Technology Raceway. On Saturday, students will hear from guest speakers on risk and resource management in a global context. After a day of listening to our amazing speakers, they will stay overnight in one of the university’s residences and participate in meaningful discussions and fun activities. On Sunday, the students will have the opportunity to apply what they have learned in a design challenge. Students will be divided into teams and given three hours to tackle a real-world development issue and the winning team will receive a prize.

The registration cost is $89 CAD which includes residence, all meals, conference materials, a t-shirt and other conference takeaways. Students may earn free admissions through referrals!

Global Engineering Conference

The sixth annual Global Engineering Conference is to be held on Saturday March 11th, 2017 at the McMaster Innovations Park.

The Global Engineering Conference 2017 features: Engineering a Healthier World. Since engineering is an interdisciplinary field that has a vital impact on several fields including healthcare, our conference will be themed around a central question:
How is engineering facilitating innovation within the healthcare field?
Through this interdisciplinary event, we hope to encourage our delegates to collaborate and reflect on how engineering can address the dynamic and growing healthcare needs that our society faces. It is critical that engineers and healthcare professionals work together to provide innovative solutions for current and long term medical needs. Our conference will provide the avenue to do just that.

The McMaster University Chapter of Engineers Without Borders is arranging this conference to provide a wide range of workshops, presentations and a panelist discussion to explore issues and developments with engineering and healthcare fields.
